We weren't going to comment on this one at first, because it was just s political meme, and our purpose is to highlight Lew's nastiness and stupidity, not his politics.  Then he edited it and added the verbiage.



You're not fooling anyone, you old goat.  you were never a supporter of Madore.  You've had the hate-on for him ever since you got your panties in a twist because he found a video of yours on a public comment forum and used it in an anti-CRC spot - a cause that you supported. Doesn't matter if it's friendly fire, your fragile ego wouldn't stand for it.  Then you - wrongly - believed Madore had something to do with this call to honesty.  He didn't, he doesn't and he never will.  Just last year you insinuated that he invited you on a homosexual date, which may have been nothing but wishful thinking on your part.

And please, "boot licking goon squad?"  Step up your game, you old fart.  You're in the minor league now, not some sandbox.  You're boring us, and if you're boring us, you're certainly boring your sycophants. Show us your finely honed skill with the english language.  Make your insults *sparkle*.

Lew Nails it

Lew's commentary on the two thirds vote is spot on.  The voters have expressed their desire many times and continue to be ignored by the entrenched power brokers in Olympia - much as the current Clark County Council majority ignores the wishes of the majority of the voters in Clark County.



To answer Collins Michael's comment, most decisions made by government requires a simple majority to pass.  But there are certain decisions that are of such import, and may adversely affect enough people, that the bar is raised to a 2/3's super majority.  This allows the governing body more confidence that what it's doing is correct and wise and in accordance with the will of the people. Taxation is one of these issues.

Lew fills in the Gaps

Lew, without a shred of evidence to support it, continues to act like a dumbass and insist that this blog is the work of David Madore.  Of course, the blog still remains unnamed, so most people are scratching their heads and becoming increasingly sure that Lew has become deranged.



But in this missive, Lew provided a copy of a letter from David Madore to him that we at Lew Waters Watch were unaware of.  The letter is illuminating, and from it we can start to see why this nasty old goat thinks Madore has it in for him. Of course, nothing of the sort is the case, but those of us at LWW aren't nearly as nice as Madore is. Lew would have you believe that his hatred of Madore is something recent, but the evidence shows he's had a hate-on for Madore for a long time.

Last July, in a gesture of friendship, David invited Lew to see a movie.  Why anyone would want to see a movie with someone like Waters baffles us here, but there it is.  Lew says he declined the offer in a recent post that we commented on.  What he apparently neglected to mention is that he publicly claimed that a local politician that he would keep anonymous had propositioned him for a homosexual date.There's a lot of ways to analyze Lew's thinking that led him to make this claim, and they all point to the fact that he's just a sick fuck.

Two years ago, when Lew went off the rails and we at the Watch administered a correction that left him gibbering to himself in the corner, he was violently sure that Madore was behind it somehow, and casting aspersions in all directions trying to see what stuck.  He was just as wrong then as he is now; in fact Madore went to great lengths to find out who we were and shut it down, but we don't take orders from Madore or anyone else.

Madore's letter also reminds of the time Lew flipped his shit because Madore's anti-CRC team used one of hid videos that they lifted off a public comment forum.  Lew being the insecure little brownshirt that he is, threw a hissy, claiming that it was stolen from him. Never mind that when you post something in a public forum it becomes public property. Never mind that the video was being used in a cause that Lew supported. Teamwork and concessions are alien concepts to Lew, what's his is HIS! We just wish he would be more responsible with HIS stuff, including his opinions, and quit leaving it around stinking up the place for other people.

This reminder and previously unknown (at least to LWW) information about Lew's spiraling relationship with Madore just paints a consistent picture of a mentally unbalanced person who simply doesn't work and play well with other people. The only people Lew apparently gets along with consistently are those who mysteriously hold him in some sort of adulation and never ever disagree with him on any point. Once Lew has an idea in his head, no amount of reality is going to dislodge it, no matter how preposterous, and once Lew has you on his shit list, Christ and three other responsible witnesses can vouch for you and it won't cut it with Lew.

So to summarize, Lew called David Madore a thief, called him a liar and suggested he was behind this blog when he wasn't and then insinuated that Madore was a homosexual. Now he's convinced that Madore is behind this current call to intellectual honesty. But it's all Madore's fault, because. . . . reasons.  Get a grip, Lew.  Good will, courtesy, respect and good manners are concepts that are apparently completely foreign to you.

Waters Endorses Blom

Big surprise, Lew Waters has officially endorsed John Blom for County Council.  This is probably appropriate, since Blom represents and is supported by the business as usual establishment crowd composed of such stalwarts as Jim Mains and Carolyn Crain.  So Waters has thrown the gauntlet before David Madore to do what he was probably going to do anyway.

Of course, in typical Waters fashion he missed and continues to miss the mark, because Madore has nothing to do with Water's ongoing inability to act like an idiot without having attention drawn to it, but we expect nothing less.



Lew of course takes an opportunity in his announcement to continue to whine about two highly insulting commentators that he kept booting and that David kept reinstating to a public comment forum. Lew can't even get that story right.  First, it was only one highly insulting commenter.  The second one just had the temerity to point out Lew's high-handed abuse of his position as administrator in starting a fight and then booting the guy he was fighting with. One does not argue with the Clark County Conservative in a forum that he controls!

Second, the highly insulting comment directed in Lew's direction didn't come out of nowhere.  Lew conveniently forgets that he started the acrimony by suggesting that someone was calling Stewart a liar, and when asked to just dial it back until an objective source could verify Stewart's attendance at a metro meeting, petulantly refused. In other words, generally acting like a douche, which is pretty much the default setting for Lew Waters.  Then, like a typical bully, when his misbehavior was challenged, he lost his effing mind.  And still hasn't regained it, by the looks of it.

David Madore was a supporting player in this drama, and has nothing to do with Lew's ongoing problems.  His current hate-on for David is a case of stepping on the dog's tail, getting bitten by the dog, and shooting the cat as retaliation.

No one sent any goons after you, Lew.  You called them down on yourself, and for some inexplicable reason, you continue to do so.  But please, by all means, be true to your inner ten year old and blame everyone in sight except the one person who's responsible for all this:  You.

Look out! Lew's sharpened his knife!

When most people are taking this lovely weekend to get out and enjoy the weather and honor those who died in battle for our great country, Lew has his hate on, and is going after David Madore with every tool in his meager arsenal:



Never mind that David Madore isn't Lew's problem. Never mind that Lew seems oblivious to the fact that Madore has nothing to do with a few citizens who got tired of Lew's shit and gave some of it back to him. Lew has his narrative lodged firmly in his reptilian mind, and no amount of reality is going to sway him.

The post references a pathetic mash-up that Lew must have cobbled together in a sleep-deprived state.  The music alone is enough to set your teeth on edge, but I guess it's considered contemporary in the Waters' household.

We really don't care what Waters writes politically.  Everyone is fair game in the political arena, even David Madore.  But if you're going to make a case that Madore calls for people to not impugn the character of other elected officials and then does it himself, you might at least try to find some cases where he actually impugns someone's character, instead of criticizing their actions.

A few things, Lew:  Character is different from actions.

Lew keeps shooting. . .at the wrong target

It's really sad when a sad old man can't even figure out who his friends and enemies are. . .




Libel is a written or published defamatory statement. Truth is a defense against libel, but there is no truth to Lew's libelous insinuations. David Madore has no association to this blog, and as far as we know, no knowledge of it or what's in it.  This blog has no affiliation with Mr. Madore, and doesn't take orders from him or anyone else. We believe that Mr. Madore is a very forgiving person, based on his previous actions, but if I were him, I'd be hitting Lew Waters with a defamation lawsuit and challenging him to provide some proof that he has anything to do with this website.

The link goes to a message that David Madore apparently left on Lew's phone back in July 2015.  Why on earth anyone would want to go catch a movie with a surly old  goat like Lew simply baffles us, but hey, whatever floats your boat. I hardly think David has lost a moment of sleep worrying about Lew turning down his movie date.

We at Lew Waters Watch are wondering who the "boot licking goon squad" of Madore is.  Does he mean us?  ROFL! Not even close, Lew, but thanks for playing. This is one of your fundamental problems, old man.  You never could tell friend from foe. I guess you have to be a vicious bully to the people who more or less align with you, because the rest want nothing to do with you. Whatever hate-on you have for David completely misses the mark.

The funny thing about this latest dust-up with Lew is that Lew Waters Watch isn't getting that much publicity.  I'd hazard a guess that most of the hits are coming from Lew and his boot licking sycophants friends. He dare not refer to this site in any of his public rants, because that would just drive traffic here, and the last thing Lew wants is his silliness publicized more than it is.  His constant referring to "David Madore's boot licking goon squad" without any reference to what he's talking about just makes most people think he's completely lost it and has gone full paranoid.

Funny, Lew, that not the story we heard. I think it was you who was told to knock it off.  Emerson and Engleman were let back into the group almost immediately, and haven't done anything egregious since, but of course you bitched and whined for an apology and made some ridiculous statements that one of Emerson's posts about Trump was actually about you. Maybe you were the one who should be kicked out until you can be civil.  You ask is it hard to discuss things civilly, but this whole thing erupted because you insisted on smearing Madore when someone suggested we wait for facts, and then tried to say that person was calling Stewart a liar when he was doing nothing of the sort.  The only person who needs a lesson in civility is you, old man. Don't get your panties in a bunch just because someone got back in your face when you were rude and uncivil to them.

Lew hides behind his DD-214 (again)

Oh, boo hoo, nasty people are still picking on Lew.  Why he's a Vietnam Vet!  How dare we exercise the first amendment right that he fought to protect!

Lacking any ability to justify his misbehavior and the consequence with facts or logic, Lew continues to chant, inventing a nonexistent narrative to assuage his butthurt.





It's sad that Lew continues to try to defend the indefensible, claiming there's some sort of time-out rule specially for him, because he's a vet, and this is a solemn weekend to honor those who died in battle.  Sorry Lew, YOU are the one dishonoring the memories of these slain heroes with your bitchy whining that someone was mean to you and you were unable to restrict their right of free expression and silence them.  Apparently Lew's current set of targets is Sean Emerson, Mark Engleman, and by association, David Madore.  Lew picks on Madore because he knows that nothing he says can injure the other two, because they just don't care.  So, having to hurt someone, he hopes to have an impact on David's reelection campaign, even though David has nothing to do with Lew's problems, and no control over what's written here. Quite frankly, we at Lew Waters Watch don't care what David Madore thinks, and don't consult him about what we write and don't write.

For the record, Lew is maligning the good names of three honorable vets himself.  David Madore served as an enlisted Nuclear Power Plant technician aboard submarines in the US Navy.  Mark Engleman was a US Naval Aviator.  Sean Emerson was an Electronic Warfare Systems specialist in the US Air Force. This makes me think that Lew doesn't have any respect for veterans.

Lew also has this strange idea that Lew Waters Watch wants to force him into lockstep. Far from it. We respect Lew's first amendment right to say whatever he wants. He, on the other hand, doesn't respect our first amendment right to highlight the outright silliness of what he says when he says it.  If Lew wants to keep making himself look like a crying bully who got punched back, that's his business. We take no pleasure in watching this man self-destruct because of his own bruised ego.

To all the families of fallen veterans, we remember your sacrifice, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  Those of us who served, are serving and will serve always remember those whose watch was never relieved, who now stand guard in heaven.  Please accept our apology on behalf of our brother in arms, who has tried to hijack this solemn holiday for his own selfish purposes. Lew Continues to Erupt

Oh, my God, someone pointed out that Lew Waters can be a vicious bully and is having a tantrum and spewing hate because he didn't get his own way after someone called him a douche when he was being a douche.



Let's set a few things straight, for the record.  Lew Waters watch is not David Madore's "goon squad." When we first started about 2 years ago, it was to call attention to outright lies that Lew was pushing about the way PCO's were being recruited because the party had been taken over by *gasp* Ron Paul supporters. Now, usually we don't pay much attention to Lew when he starts spewing nonsense, but this particular rant got picked up by the mouthpiece of the Democratic party, the Columbian and ran as actual news. Madore had nothing to do with it then, in fact, he did his best to find out who we are and shut it down.  Madore has nothing to do with it now.  I can say confidently that Madore wishes Lew no ill will.  Of course, Lew sees a conspiracy behind every rock, and everyone looks suspicious when he starts getting push back.







No lies are being spread here, Lew. At least not by us. Just the facts, without your self-serving spin, and correcting your lies, insinuations and allegations.

• You castigated Madore for criticizing Stewart.  That is a fact.Was he wrong in his criticism?  Yes, but that's irrelevant to the matter at hand.
• Someone else suggested you dial it back until the reports that she wasn't there could be verified.  That is a fact. 
• You proceeded to act like a douche and claim you didn't have to do anything, you have the right to be a nasty old bastard and call people names and no one can stop you.  Not in so many words, but the meaning was clear.  This is a fact. 
• Your were publicly called a douche for acting like a douche.  This is fact.
• You blocked the person who called you that - because how DARE someone call the Clark County Conservative a bad name!  This is also a fact. 
• You blocked someone else for pointing out that you were acting high-handed.  This is also a fact.
• You posted the Metro attendance record, lifted from a comment made be the very person you booted, without attribution.  This is a fact.
• When an adult added them back, you spent an inordinate amount of time and effort to keep booting them out, to the point that it became comical.  This is a fact.
• When you were told to knock it off, you whined that no one apologized to you, and weakly complained that someone's post about Trump was a double entendre directed at you. This is fact.
• Unable to satisfy your anger at the proximate cause of your tantrum, you widened the scope and started flinging your feces at Madore.  This is fact.

So remind me again what it is exactly that we're lying about?  As far as smearing Lew, we really don't need that.  He's doing a fine job of it by himself.  All we do is shine a light on it and give it the respect it deserves.

We don't demand Lew do or write anything. He's perfectly welcome to keep being a nasty unhinged, vulgar curmudgeon. We really don't care.  The more he does, the more irrelevant he becomes, but that's his problem, not ours. Nor do we seek to "beat" him into submission. We're just holding the spotlight on his nonsense, he's the one beating  himself. He could make this stop in an instant by doing only one thing: Be Nice.  But we don't demand that of him, and in fact we recognize that it's probably beyond his ability to do so. We're rather fond of dismantling his tantrums, and we recognize that when challenged, Lew will always choose to double down on nasty and stupid. That's his choice. We're not to blame. 

So let's be perfectly clear, Lew Waters Watch is an independent effort by a few concerned citizens to expose an internet bully for what he is.  It's not a political blog - in fact, the views of the owners of this blog probably align very closely to those of Lew, when he's on his meds. It's not David Madore's blog, and we don't do David Madore's bidding, or anyone else's.  This blog is nothing but a celebration of the first amendment, and wouldn't even exist if Lew allowed the first amendment in his normal dealings with his public vowel movements.  The only reason this blog exists is to provide a counterpoint to Lew's sometimes strange public proclamations that's outside Lew's control. You see, if you say something Lew doesn't like in the comments of his political blog, they're deleted, and after awhile you're banned.  Same with facebook. Lew simply doesn't allow disagreement, especially when those who disagree with him come armed with such nefarious things as facts and logic. Since we can't have our say in forums under Lew's control, we chose to say it where he can't reach us. The lovely thing about the internet is that it gives everyone the ability to have their viewpoint heard, no matter how much Lew disagrees with it.

Sucks for the tyrant when he can't silence free men. Get a grip, Lew, and watch your blood pressure.  It's not healthy for a man of your age to become apoplectic.

Lew's Tantrum Continues

If you haven't been following Lew's latest public melt down, the other day David Madore made an erroneous post that suggested that Jeannie Stewart was a disappointment because of a vote by the JPACT.  Lew posted a rant about it in Southwest Washington Opinions because, according to him, a Columbian article said that Stewart said she wasn't even there. That's a lot of people, who don't have any love for Madore, saying stuff.  A reasonable suggestion was made that a request for the meeting attendance had been requested, and maybe everyone could withhold judgment until objective evidence was available. No, that was unacceptable to Lew, who loves nothing better than a target at which to sling feces - unless they sling back, of course.  He claimed that the suggestion was effectively calling Stewart a liar and petulantly said that he didn't have to stay quiet, effectively that he had a right to be an asshole.

When his being an ass was called out publicly, in true Lew Waters form, he abused his administrative power, and blocked that person from the discussion, along with anyone who objected to his abuse of power.  The Metro council did respond with an attendance sheet, which was posted on Madore's site to inform him of his error.  Lew stole that post and paraded it triumphantly, conveniently neglecting to mention that it came from the very person he blocked. 

Madore intervened and reinstated the blocked people.  Lew blocked them again, and it developed into a game of whack-a-mole, with bets on the side to see how fast Waters would block someone once they were let back in. Poor Lew lost sleep, because it was his honor-bound duty to watch the membership and delete any miscreants when they were added.

Finally, Bill Cismar figuratively clipped Lew upside the head and told him to knock it off. This was unacceptable, because the Wrath of Lew must be discharged! Simply blocking the miscreants from his feed was inadequate and kind of passive aggressive.  No, Lew Waters doesn't get mad, he gets even! So he unleashed this pearl:

Politics is rough, with no quarter given or expected. It's not dumping on, lying about or back-stabbing
someone to call them out on their public actions. In this case a mistake was made, and when it was discovered, the offending statement was retracted, and an apology was given and accepted by the aggrieved party. Lew would have us believe that Madore simply said, "Oops, sorry about that," and went on as if nothing happened.  This is not the case, Madore's apology was public, thorough and heartfelt. I really don't know what more Lew wanted.  Should Madore sever a finger as a symbol of his penitence?  Perhaps Lew would like it better if Madore took a seat center stage of City Hall and commit ritual seppuku?

As far as smearing or defaming any in disagreement with him, oh, the irony! This is Lew's default setting, as anyone who has ever disagreed with him knows.  He complains that Madore's public apology is inadequate, but the world still waits for Lew to apologize to Frank Decker for calling him a shit-smearer, or to Lisa Ross and her family for publicly suggesting that she sleeps with her campaign staff and supporters. "I'm sorry" is simply not in Lew's vocabulary.

What this basically amounts to is Lew's tantrum was shut off before it ran its course, and he's going to lash out in his usual style and cover whoever he sees responsible with feces as a result.  To hell with principle.  To hell with conservatism. To hell with using an otherwise reasonably useful personal news blog for a personal vendetta! To hell with the fact that Madore stands for smaller government and an end to corruption in the county government - all of which Lew is for.  Madore crossed him and challenged his authority and for that his life is forfeit.  Madore must die - or whatever fate can reasonably be extracted by a butthurt old man with a blog.

Then he cries that they go on the attack and keep attacking.  Sort of like he does, but he hates it when it's done to him. Dude, quit providing softballs and we'll quit hitting them out of the park! It's too much to expect you to disagree with reason and logic, since you never have to date. So you can start acting like an adult and quit giving us juicy material to castigate you with.  Or continue your temper tantrum, and we'll be right here, giving helpful suggestions.  My niece is of the opinion that if you kick your arms and legs harder, scream louder, and maybe hold your breath until you turn blue, it might work.  Give it a try.

The tragedy is that Lew's stuff, when he stays objective, is pretty good and worth reading.  His damn ego just gets in the way, and he has to vent off his childish tantrums in full public view when someone makes him angry - which isn't difficult. Usually he manages to hide the bodies by just silencing the people he bullies, but that doesn't always work. All it takes is one instance of this sort of instability to ruin the reputation of an otherwise stellar political blogger.

Want some Cheese with that Whine?

Apparently the owner of Southwest Washington Opinions has clipped Lew upside the back of the head and told him to stop being such a childish, petulant ass, so he's stopped playing the block/unblock game with David Madore.

David, ever the peacemaker, posted an olive branch to kind of smooth things over.  In Lew's preferred environment, this wouldn't fly, but it appears Bill Cismar told Lew to play nice or he wouldn't be an admin. Lew still had to do some whining about it, lol.

Waaaa!

Lew it isn't YOUR forum, it's a public forum. Any insults you may have collected were doubtless a result of your less than polite demeanor. Here's a hint: Be nice, and people will be nice to you.  Be an ass, and people will not be nice to you.  Quite a concept, isn't it? If you wonder why so many people are mean to you and the rest just sort of ignore you, maybe it's you.

Then he righteously suggests that apologies are in order (after all I am the admin). Of course it never crosses his mind that perhaps he should be doing some apologizing as well. Classic narcissists are never at fault or in the wrong.

Then he gets his panties in a bunch about some post that Emerson made.  It took a little looking around, but we found the post he seems to be whining about:


 

Oh, the irony.

Whether it is or isn't about Lew is irrelevant. Lew obviously thinks it's about him, which tells us a few things:

1. Lew thinks the world revolves around him and that everything is about him
2. Lew knows he has a problem and recognizes the problem when he sees it, even if it's not about him.
3. Assuming the post was about him - we have no idea what was on Emerson's mind when he wrote this, but we know he's vocally #NeverTrump - Lew demonstrates that he's incapable of getting a clue and seeing the irony of his actions as they compare to his stated beliefs and values.

Lew is right on one thing, this post does pretty much sum up what he's done on numerous occasions.  His inability to maintain civil dialogue and his propensity to ban, bar and silence dissenters is why this blog exists in the first place, to provide an open forum in which to criticize Lew that's out of reach of his censorship. The sad thing is that Lew is unable to correct his abusive behavior and avoid such dust-ups. The ironic thing is that he's vocally anti-Trump, but can't see that he's doing the same thing.

Have some more cheese.  The brie is exceptional.

Lew the Plagiarist's Double Standard

Lew was on a tear against Madore yesterday, and when it was suggested that he dial it back until the actual attendance of the JPACT meeting could be verified, he went on a tear on Sean Emerson, who suggested it.  Emerson fired back and was banned.

Apparently the Metro council got back to Mr. Emerson shortly thereafter, and he posted it as a comment to David Madore's original post that started this dust-up.



Lew, right after he booted Emerson, posted this, both in SWWO and his own wall, without attribution.  Okay he blocked Emerson because he doesn't like it when his victims fight back.  But then to steal Emerson's post and present it without attribution?  This from a man who whines and cries and threatens legal action when anyone does anything with his verbal and photographic bowel movements contributions.



Pathetic, Lew.  Add sniveling little thieving weasel to your list of attributes, you deceitful waste of oxygen.

The Whining Continues. . .

Lew Waters took to cyberspace to cry about being manhandled online.  Of course, it's all David Madore's fault.



Well, a few things should be clarified, Lew.  I have no idea if the people in question are in fact ardent supporters of Madore.  It seems, though, that anyone who doesn't stand with the anti-Madore crowd must be an ardent supporter.  Has it ever occurred to you that standing up for common sense, like waiting to get objective facts before embarking on a campaign of personal destruction has nothing to do with supporting a person?

Lew is quite right that Madore wouldn't tolerate this sort of behavior on his page. Nor would I, nor would anyone else.  The point is, Lew, South West Washington Opinions is not your page!  It's a public comment forum - a community forum, if you will. If you act like a douche in public, don't get offended if people call you out for being a douche.

Lew claims that this wasn't over a matter of opinion, but that such behavior shouldn't be tolerated.  The fact is that it was over a matter of opinion, and if you disagree with Lew, he gets nasty and starts making insinuations and personal attacks on you. Like any bully, he can dish it out but can't take it.

Here is the exchange that got Lew's panties in a bunch:



So let's break this down.  Emerson says he's submitted a request for the meeting attendance, with the implied suggestion that people withhold judgment until the facts are revealed, and suggested how the misunderstanding might have arisen.

Lew fires back and tries to twist the discussion to say that Emerson was calling Stewart a liar.  No one was calling Stewart a liar.  The information available was hearsay from Lew, a known anti-Madore pundit, quoting a Columbian blogger, also a known anti-Madore pundit on something that Stewart may or may not have said.

Emerson quite reasonably suggested that Waters refrain from his campaign of personal destruction until Metro responded.

Instead of responding like a reasonable adult, Lew comes back and essentially says, "I don't have to, you can't make me. You're not my Dad!"  Basically acting like a douche.

Emerson doesn't back down to bullies, so he apparently called it as he saw it.

So Lew booted him off the page.  Emerson came back, added back by a friend, and called him out for being hypocritical and silencing someone whose opinion differed from him.  And Lew booted him again and blocked him.

He was called out on this high-handed behavior by Mark Engleman, and booted him as well.  Anyone else want to complain?  What a thug, really.



And boot, Mark was gone.

Engleman was quite right.  In the past, Lew has among other things publicly called Frank Decker a shit smearer, and suggested that candidate for state representative Lisa Ross was sleeping with her campaign staff. Lew is a vile, vulgar human being who frequently disengages his brain before he puts his mouth in gear.  In most social settings some of his erudite statements would earn him a quick knuckle sandwich, but like most internet warriors, he feels completely invulnerable behind his keyboard. Unwilling to take responsibility for his words, when an angry community brought him to task over suggesting that Lisa Ross was sleeping with her campaign staff, he soiled his DependsTM and practically demanded police protection.

South West Washington Opinions apparently is open to any opinion, as long as it doesn't deviate substantially from that of the administrators.  Unpopular opinions will be met by the admins with abusive insinuations and bullying, and any objection to this or response in kind will result in your removal.

Over the years Lew has been very hard on people, their reputation and their character. After awhile enough is enough and he has found some of that coming back his way. The hope is that when you are on the receiving end of the abuse, you'll catch a clue and dial it back. Someone can only be attacked so long before they fight back. Ignoring it forever doesn't work with some people. They just take it as a sign to ramp up. Lou Brancaccio as a perfect example of this type of bullying. My brother was bullied badly by a kid when he was little. Everyone said "ignore" him. Easy to say when it's not your nose getting bloodied. So my Dad taught my Bother to fist fight. Yep, the bully got a bloody nose and backed off. Then my brother backed off too. Problem solved.

I find it hard to take seriously any forum that would put someone as deranged and unstable as Lew in charge.

The question at hand today is who is Lew Waters channeling: a fuedal lord, or a modern totalitarian tyrant?

Anyone who has been an administrator of a public forum knows that the authority of the task comes with responsibility. Administrators set to tone of discussion, and moderate it when it gets out of hand. Even in a well-run group, tempers flare, barbs are exchanged, and patently silly statements are ridiculed. Relationships are formed, both good and bad.  In order to foster a fair and open exchange of viewpoints, and administrator needs to stay above this, and act as the voice of reason.

When an admin steps into the fray and not only tolerates the open slander and politics of personal destruction but engages in it himself, the discussion quits being an open marketplace of ideas.  Normally when someone does this, they're called out on it, and their stupidity is subjected to public ridicule, and they soon learn to act civilized in public, and moderate their rhetoric within the bounds of propriety.  Not Lew!  As an admin, he feels he has carte blanche to defame anyone who come in his crosshairs, and when you call him out on it, you will be defamed and subject to his verbal abuse as well.  And by golly, you better kow-tow and take it, because if you respond back in kind. ... you're gone.

Just like a fuedal lord, Lew will press his delete button, and off with your rhetorical head.  Or, like Trotsky, you will be "disappeared,"  peremptorily removed from the discussion so your disruptive observation of the perfidy of the admin doesn't infect the rest of the body.

And heaven help you if you notice this high handed behavior and call out the tyrant on removing someone who had the utter gall to stand up for themselves, because the tyrant will remove you, as well!  King Lewie will not be mocked!

Lew cannot carry on a civil discourse in a forum which he does not control.  He will only let his hair down and be his vulgar, bullying self when he has the power to silence dissension.  As a result of standing up to his nonsense, three people are now on his hate list and have been banned from the public forum, Southwest Washington Opinions.

The funny thing is that Lew isn't as secure in his power as he would like you to think.  Heaven forbid that anyone get back in and continue to draw attention to his perfidy. Fortunately, he's not the only admin on SWWO, and some of the adults keep unblocking his enemies and letting them back in.  I understand it's become a matter of mirth among hose involved to bet on how long it will take before Lew notices and blocks them again.  Bets are being laid, and money is exchanging hands.  The current record is about 15 minutes, and this in the middle of the night.  No one posts or does anything to draw attention.  They're added, and then summarily blocked.

The only conclusion that can be drawn from this is that Lew in his paranoia, is staring at the membership list, hitting the refresh button regularly, like a cat staring at a mousehole. It's sad that a grown man is so afraid that someone might call him a bad name that he devotes so much time and effort to keep people from expressing their opinion.

He complained that someone called him a bad name, and so that person was banned.  Lew can't seem to understand what my mom taught me at a young age, that honey attracts more than vinegar does. He doesn't understand that when you insult, denigrate and slander a free man, you're probably going to get the same back, in spades. If Lew doesn't want to get dirty, he shouldn't start throwing mud. Lew shouldn't be ruffled by a few bad words directed his way.  He's surely been called worse.  Hell, I know he's been called worse, because I've called him worse, right here.

I know many people who are young at heart, and enjoy life to the fullest.  Lew is young at heart, but as a spoiled little bully who throws a hissy when he doesn't get his own way, and when someone stand up to him and smacks him for being a prick. Have pity on the man, silently staring at his computer screen, finger poised to block his enemies should they appear again.  Whack-a-mole was never so fun.

A fit of pique

Following up on the previous article, where Lew banned a citizen who had the temerity to disagree with him.

Unfortunately for Lew he doesn't own South West Washington Opinions (SWWO), and so his block only lasts as long as one of the more adult admins intervenes.

The he citizen who suggested that maybe the actual attendance of the meeting be verified before judgment was passed had no chance to post the verification to SWWO when he received it. He took it upon himself to post the response from the Metro Council Office to David Madore's page, upon which Madore, when made aware of his gaffe, posted an apology and a retraction. 

Lew copied the post with the list of attendees and posted it on his original post without attribution, copying the information from the very person who he had blocked less than an hour before, and because Lew has no concept of journalistic integrity, failed to attribute the source.

Of course, that citizen was later re-added to the group, and posted a terse public comment to Lew about being childish and blocking him, as well as using the information he had gained and posting it without attribution. It was a blatant copy and paste, because the source information had to be massaged to format correctly in the Facebook format, so Lew hasn't got a leg to stand on if he tried to suggest that he got it from another source, unless he wants to make the preposterous case that another person made identical formatting decisions.

Of course, Lew immediately removed that post and blocked this person again.

Lew, you're a damned senior citizen. Time to start acting like it, instead of petulant schoolgirl who can't stand it when other people are mean to you.  For someone who's as abrasive and vulgar as you are, you sure have an awfully thin skin. 

Did Lew take an oath?

Lew makes a big deal of his veteran status with the US Army, where he spent his time in Vietnam keeping the Jesus nut tight on helicopters.  To get there, Lew had to have sworn the following oath:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Now, there's a bit in the constitution about freedom of speech.  It's there to guard against the government restricting our freedom of speech, and telling us what we can and can't say.

There's no question that Lew is not the government, but most Americans understand that in a public opinion forum, all voices should be allowed to be heard, even unpopular ones. Normal adults recognize this as the marketplace of ideas, where your ideas are placed for the public to examine and evaluate, then accept or reject as needed.

But Lew's fragile ego can't exist in this environment, because, shockingly, occasionally people do disagree with him. Truthfully, it doesn't even take a disagreement with Lew to set him off.  Just a rational person suggesting he dial his rhetoric back until the facts are out is sufficient to earn them a permanent place on his long list of hatred.

Take, for example, a recent exchange on Facebook.  In the public comment forum South West Washington Opinions, where Lew is one of several administrators, he posted an article that highlighted an error that Councilor David Madore made in a public comment.  Madore suggested that people were disappointed in Councilwoman Stewart's vote in a recent Joint Policy Advisory Committee on Transportation meeting, based on an article that stated that the only dissenting vote was from Clackamas County.  Stewart's defense was that she hadn't even attended the meeting.  The confusion is understandable, because it's perfectly reasonable for Madore to have expected Stewart to have attended this rather important committee meeting.

Instead of being an adult about it, and informing Madore of his error, Lew, who has a hate-on for Madore among many other people, decided to highlight it as a hit piece. He didn't take the time to verify Stewart's claim, hearsay was quite enough for him.

A comment was made by a citizen that the minutes of attendance should be readily accessible, and that facts should be verified before insinuations were made. Lew, doubling down on stupid as usual, tried to spin this into some sort of defense of Madore, and in the process insulted the person who made the comment, because Lew is apparently just lacks the capacity to be civil when being a complete ass is an option.

Of course, Lew's myopia prevents him from seeing that he was engaged in the exact sort of character assassination against Madore that he accused Madore of committing. In the ensuing exchange, Lew realized he came into a battle of wits unarmed, and in true fascist thug fashion, ended the exchange by removing the person who called for facts to be examined before sentence was passed.  Another member added Lew's victim back tot he group, and when called out about his thuggish behavior and censoring opinions that placed his stupidity in a bad light, he proceeded to block the individual. It's a temporary thing, because Lew isn't the only admin in the group. It would be instructive to post a record of the exchange here, but like a child who has been caught, he proceeded to delete salient bits of the conversation that exposed him in a foolish and mean-spirited light.

As it turned out, a request to the metro council office yielded the attendance list, verifying that Stewart had not attended the meeting. This was never introduced into the discussion because Lew booted and blocked the person who engaged him, because who needs facts when you're on a roll ranting?

This highlights the mindset of THE Clark County Conservative:  Disagree with him, and you will be silenced. Totalitarianism cannot tolerate differing opinions, and when exposed for what it is, will always do whatever is necessary to silence those voices. Lew, no doubt dealing with demons of PTSD from his time in Vietnam - skinning your knuckles on a wrench can leave such psychological scars, after all - cannot manage his deeply seated insecurities and delicate ego. Any challenge must be silenced, because facts and logic are only useful to THE Clark County Conservative when they serve his sometimes nonsensical agenda.

The tragedy in all this is that Lew has a serious problem with identifying friend from foe. The multitude who populate his hate list often share most of his values and viewpoints.  But in Lew's totalitarian worldview, you toe the line on every single issue, or YOU. ARE. THE. ENEMY.

Seek help, old man. There's no upside to dying bitter and filled with hate.
